Living in Hideout

Hideout is a small town of its own in Wasatch County, spread along the hillsides above Jordanelle Reservoir about six miles from Park City. It’s young, still taking shape, and has some of the widest views of the water anywhere around Park City.

At a glance

  • Where. Along SR-248 north and east of Jordanelle Reservoir, about 15 minutes from Main Street.
  • Homes. Newer single-family homes and townhomes in neighborhoods including Hideout Canyon and Soaring Hawk.
  • Skiing. Deer Valley’s East Village base is a short drive away.
  • Outside. Jordanelle State Park’s Ross Creek area, with a sand beach and trail access.
  • Errands. The town has no grocery store yet, so everyday shopping happens in Park City, Kamas or Heber.
  • Schools. Most of Hideout is in Wasatch County School District, while its newer Richardson Flat area is in Park City School District. Check any address with the district.

Daily life

Hideout is quiet and residential. Most of life here happens on your own deck or out on the reservoir, with Deer Valley’s East Village a short drive away.

Worth knowing

Growth is coming. A new neighborhood of up to 600 homes is planned at Richardson Flat, along with a grocery store and restaurants.

My take

My go-to spot. Ross Creek at Jordanelle for an easy shoreline walk and wide-open views.

What people don’t realize. A Park City mailing address doesn’t necessarily mean Park City services or jurisdiction. Town boundaries, schools, utilities and taxes should be confirmed for each property.

What I love most. The views and the newer housing options. It feels peaceful while still keeping both Park City and Heber accessible.

If you’d like to see Hideout the way I’d show it, say hello.
