Living in Jeremy Ranch

Jeremy Ranch sits in Toll Canyon on the north side of I-80, about 15 minutes from Main Street and closer still to Salt Lake. It began as a sheep ranch and became a golf community in the early 1980s, and it still has that settled, neighborly feel.

At a glance

  • Where. North of I-80 at the Jeremy Ranch exit, just west of Kimball Junction, at around 6,400 feet.
  • Homes. Single-family homes across nine neighborhoods, with more modest homes lower down and larger estate homes higher up, plus condos and townhomes near the golf course.
  • Skiing. Canyons Village is about 15 minutes away.
  • Outside. Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club, a private Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay design from 1981, is wrapping up a full renovation this fall. East Canyon Road is a flat, quiet stretch for walking and riding, and the Toll Canyon trails are close by.
  • Errands. Coffee and bagels across the interstate at Quarry Village, and full groceries at Kimball Junction.
  • Getting around. High Valley Transit buses start from the Jeremy Ranch park-and-ride, and its free on-demand Micro service covers the neighborhood.
  • Schools. Park City School District. Check any address with the district’s own locator.

Daily life

It’s close enough to Park City for dinner on Main Street and close enough to Salt Lake for an easy commute, a balance many people here chose it for. The Jeremy family’s stone cabin, built around 1890, still stands as a reminder of where it all began.

Worth knowing

Jeremy Ranch has a homeowners association, and the golf club is separate and optional. Summit County has also acquired the former Jeremy family ranch land along East Canyon Road. It remains closed to the public while the county plans its future, and it’s worth keeping an eye on.

My take

My go-to spot. The golf course area, for a walk and the wide-open views.

What people don’t realize. The neighborhood changes as you climb. The lower streets feel open and connected, while the upper streets feel more private and mountainous.

What I love most. It works well for real life. The location, schools, recreation and access toward Salt Lake create a very practical balance.

If you’d like to see Jeremy Ranch the way I’d show it, say hello.
